Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a trial membership?
Technically, yes. We offer a non-contract 1 Month membership as well as a day and/or week guest pass.
Do you offer guest passes?
Yes, guest passes are available. We offer both a daily guest pass as well as a week pass. See our plans & pricing tab for details.
What is the difference between the $10 Daily Guest Pass and the $5 Drop-In Class Pass?
Our daily guest pass is for individuals wanting to utilize our entire facility for their workout. While our class pass is for individuals ONLY wanting to take a group fitness class with one of our instructors, held in our studio room.
Is there always a staff member on duty that can assist?
We try to ensure a staff member is always on duty to assist with memberships and equipment use. Please keep in mind - we are a small business! There may occasions when there are gaps in shifts or times when we are short staffed (emergencies, vacations, months when school is in session, etc). However, you can always shoot us a message or email if you need help and someone is not at the front desk. *If you are NOT a member or you do not have an active membership, you are not permitted to work out when a staff member is not on duty and without prior approval! No exceptions.
Are children allowed entry?
Children under 16 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign a child waiver. They should also be accompanied by an adult at all times. Our facility is not a playground nor a daycare.
What is included in my membership?
Every membership includes the following: full access to our equipment, men and women locker rooms that include showers and sauna, as well as all of our group fitness classes.
Why is there a sign-up fee?
The sign-up fee covers additional costs, such as: your membership card, processing your membership contract, adding you to our Gym Assistant system, and setting up your autopayment.
How do I cancel my membership / break my contract?
The great thing about our memberships at Alpha is there is no sneaky fine print. We don't have a strict contract where you are locked into a 1, 2, or 3 year contract and unable to cancel - like some other gyms. The membership agreement that you sign upon becoming a new member is just that...an agreement. You are agreeing to the cost of the membership, agreeing to pay for your membership, and agreeing to our policies. Our standard memberships require you to pay each and every month (reoccurring). Payment is not attendance based. Just because you have not been to our facility, does not mean you are relinquished from payment. If you would like to cancel your membership at any time you are welcome to do so -- Cancellations MUST be emailed to alphafitnessclub1@gmail.com and we require 30-day notice. *Cancellation fee may also apply.
What's the difference between reoccurring monthly vs 'month-to-month'
Our standard memberships are billed on a reoccurring monthly basis. When you sign your Membership Agreement you will see that there is no end date/expiration date listed - it is noted as 'open'. This means that your membership payment must be paid every single month until you would decide to cancel. If you are unable to commit to a standard membership and need more flexibility - we do offer a One Month membership. This membership can be renewed each month - hence month-to-month payment. You are not obligated to continue attending our facility after that one month, nor are you expected to pay after that one month if you choose not to renew (or change your membership option). Your payment does not automatically bill every month. Other flexible options that do not have reoccuring monthly payments are our Pay In Full membership options.
Why was I charged a cancellation fee?
It's our policy to charge a cancellation fee when members cancel their standard membership (not every membership poses a cancellation fee). Please see our plans and pricing page to determine what memberships require cancellation fees. As already noted, we charge a $50 cancellation fee if you decide to cancel your membership within the first year of signing up - regardless. If you decide to cancel your membership after one year of your sign-up date, we charge a $25 cancellation fee - regardless. Is this considered an 'early termination fee'? Technically no since we don't pose a 1, 2, or 3 year contract onto our members. Cancellation fees are a fee for canceling your service (aka gym membership) with Alpha Fitness Club. Such fees are used to compensate our business for losing a member, loss of revenue, and resources.
What type of sauna do you offer? (Infrared or Traditional Steam)
We offer infrared saunas. This type of sauna utilizes infrared light waves to generate heat in the body, these waves penetrate deeper into the tissues. There are many health benefits to using a sauna: pain relief, flushes out toxins, improves cardio vascular function, better circulation, and more. Plus it's very therapeutic and relaxing!
Does Alpha Fitness Club participate in sponsorships or donations?
Alpha Fitness Club loves doing what we can to be a part of helping and giving back to the community. We have a strict yearly budget, unfortunately we cannot help everyone. We need a minimum of 2 weeks notice in order to participate. **Please note: If the community wants support, we need the community's support. Being a patron of your local gym that you're requesting a donation from is a good start.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Even though our preferred form of payment is Cash, we ultimately prefer to be paid and paid on time. We also accept Debit and Credit cards, Personal Checks, and Apple Pay. Membership payments are typically put on automatic payment with a card on file, ensuring payments are processed on their due date.
*Note: A $75 fee will be charged for any returned checks.
Do you provide soap or towels for your showers?
We do not. If you would like to shower at our facility, you must bring your own supplies.
